Scope and Contents: The papers of the Urban Appalachain Council are a collection reports, publications, and papers dealing with the recent immigrants to Ohio urban areas such as Akron, Toledo, and Cincinnati from neighboring rural Appalachain areas. These documents are focused on the socioeconomic, education, health, and settlement patterns of these people from 1960 through 1978. Race relations, labor distributions, religious preferences, and historical backgrounds are also addressed.
